The Altar - Ray Boltz

June 29th, 2008

The Altar

The service is nearing an end
The choir is singing “Just As I Am”
And now as that old song is played
People at the altar are kneeling down to pray
Some are finding mercy
Forgiveness for their sin
Some are fighting battles
They’ve been struggling to win
The time has come to give them to the Lord
That’s what this altar is for

That’s what this altar is for
You don’t have to carry those burdens anymore
There’s a light in the darkness
And there’s a love that’s true
And Jesus is waiting
Waiting here for you
Go quickly now before they close the door
That’s what this altar is for
I see a father is praying with his son

Momma kneels beside them
Thanking God they’ve come
There’s an old man standing there in tears
Giving up a part of him
He’s held back for years
Hearts are being broken
Lives are being changed
And those who call upon Him
They will never be the same
The time has come to give in to the Lord
That’s what this altar is for

That’s what this altar is for
You don’t have to carry those burdens anymore
There’s a light in the darkness
And there’s a love that’s true
And Jesus is waiting
He is waiting here for you
Go quickly now before they close the door

You can give your burdens to the Lord
That’s what this altar is for

“asking forgiveness” ??

June 29th, 2008

i apologize to those i have harmed, i am trying to learn and grow, i hope we all can stay connected, i dont enjoy losing anyone for anyone reason…

…………….

forgiveness is a matter which i have at times believed in and other times i felt it was completely unnecessary as it involves the concept of fault… when fault is brought into a matter of concern, often there is a great amount of finger pointing, blaming, guilt, and denial.. the flames of passion to those involved in sorting out disagreements sometimes does little more than feed the fire…

So which is it? He admits guilt by asking for foregiveness then he doesn’t believe in forgiveness because it would mean finding fault… in whom? Himself?

My response would have been to show up that indeed this person is pushing a religion, that of Secular Humanism.

Secular Humanism (a religion)–> Secular Ethics –> Moral nihilism (Pronunciation: ‘nī-(h)&-”li-z&m, ‘ne-
Etymology: German Nihilismus, from Latin nihil nothing — more at NIL
1 a : a viewpoint that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless b : a doctrine that denies any objective ground of truth and especially of moral truths
2 a (1) : a doctrine or belief that conditions in the social organization are so bad as to make destruction desirable for its own sake independent of any constructive program or possibility (2) capitalized : the program of a 19th century Russian party advocating revolutionary reform and using terrorism and assassination b : TERRORISM)

Moral nihilism, also known as ethical nihilism, is the meta-ethical view that objective morality does not exist; therefore no action is preferable to any other. For example, a moral nihilist would say that killing someone, even purposely or with premeditation, is not inherently right or wrong, although it often breaks legal codes and thus becomes ‘murder’.

As Christians, we know that:
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

BUT

Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his (Jesus’) blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

1Peter 2:24 Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Even the world as a whole, by majority, agrees that Right and Wrong do exist!

The Anchor Holds - Ray Boltz

The Anchor Holds

Words and Music by Lawrence Chewning and Ray Boltz

I have journeyed through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea,
By faith alone, sight unknown,
And yet His eyes were watching me.

The Anchor holds, though the ship is battered.
The Anchor holds, though the sails are torn.
Well I have fallen on my knees,
as I faced the raging sea,
But the Anchor holds, in spite of the storm.
I’ve had visions and I’ve had dreams;
Well I’ve even held them in my hands,
But I never knew those dreams could slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand.

O, the Anchor holds, though the ship is battered.
The Anchor holds, though the sails are torn.
Well I have fallen on my knees,
as I faced the raging seas.
O, the Anchor holds, in spite of the storm.
Now I have been young, but I am older now.
O and there has been beauty these eyes have seen;
But it was in the night, when I faced the storms of my life.
Oh, that’s where God proved His love to me.

The Anchor holds, though the ship is battered.
The Anchor holds, though the sails are torn.
I have fallen, fallen down on my knees
as I faced the raging seas.
But the Anchor holds; O, in spite of the storm.
I said I’ve fallen, fallen down on my knees
as I faced the raging seas;
But the Anchor holds, in spite of the storm.

Unhappiness

June 28th, 2008

Quote:
i think i have chosen unhappiness by choosing to care about the suffering on our planet

The suffering is great and unfathomable to some, I care about the suffering of our planet, as well as what you add to it by being unhappy, and hope you and others can find something at some point to make you truly happy thus lowering the amount of suffering our planet has on it, at some point in time.

Kind Regards

I SO agree with the person who responded to the quote!

I believe that you can care for the world’s pain and all that is wrong in this world and you can do something about it, too, but not let it drag you down into dispondency.

If you know God personally, have accepted his reedeming power through Jesus Christ and have the Holy Spirit leading you, there is very little suffering on your part. You can be Empathetic to the world’s condition but you don’t have to fall into the pit of dispair. As the Bible says “I can do ALL things through Christ Who strengthens me.” Amen and amen!! I’m here to tell you! :)

Political Correctness

June 26th, 2008

2007 winning entry from an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term:

“Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. ”

Praise the Lord, some young people still know the difference between right and wrong!

Billy Graham prayer presented on Paul Harvey’s “The Rest of the Story”

June 26th, 2008

PAUL HARVEY’S ON- AIR PRAYER

‘Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. In Jesus’ name, Amen!’

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, ‘The Rest of the Story,’ and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

“Connectedness”

June 26th, 2008
‘We are all connected in a circle, in a hoop, that never ends.’

‘Colors of the Wind’ Disney

this is one of my favorite quotes.. it reminds me of what a small planet we now live on.. how being connected by the internet brings people across the earth together to share pain and joy…

in all communities i have ever lived, the desire to live pain free is predominant..

when we do a small thing that offends another, it carries ‘on the wind’ to the next person and so affects them and then to the next, and so on and so forth… this is called ‘collective consciousness’…

it is a great power we each have to affect the planet positively or negatively….

how will you use your power today?

While this is true, there is a greater power at work. It is the Love of God and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.

Practically the whole world is connected by the Internet, but Christians are connected by the Holy Spirit. He leads us in ways that can sometimes not even be expressed in words alone. He binds us together in love, joy and obedience to God’s holy ways.

Where the author of this post says “when we do a small thing that offends another, it carries ‘on the wind’ to the next person and so affects them and then to the next, and so on and so forth…”, the Holy Spirit infects us with His love, joy and widsom, and that, too, is “carried on the wind” from one person to another.

As for me, I’d rather my source of this love, joy and wisdom be the Holy Spirit rather than to depend on my own mood any given time or day. What comes from Him is perfect.

As it appears on PC’s Spirituality Forum - A da nv do–Great Spirit

June 26th, 2008

A da nv do, shine upon me
As I wake in the morning
You are there.
When I lay down my head,
You are there.
To show me direction
To show me the way
When I am down in the valley
You are there.
standing upon the mountian still
You are there.
O Great Spirit,
Shine upon me with grace.

This is my favorite prayer it was written by a Native American named Paul Conley Aniwodi in 1996.

Compare it to this part of Psalm 139

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Bible Study - Fruit of the Spirit - 6-23-08 Part1

June 24th, 2008

You are in At Jesus’ Feet.
There are 1 people in the room.
Room owner: SeptemberMorn
recluse1 entered the room.
recluse1: hey
SeptemberMorn: hey
eskielover entered the room.
bethBot entered the room.
recluse1: hi
bethBot has left the room.
SeptemberMorn: If we’re going ahead, I have a small problem…
recluse1: ok,lol
SeptemberMorn: I’m kinda discouraged with the music.
recluse1: we can go ahead with the rest if you’d like hon
sadandalone entered the room.
recluse1: hi sad
eskielover: hi sad
SeptemberMorn: Hi, Sad :)
sadandalone: hi all
recluse1: just in time sad, we are late getting going tonight
eskielover: are we all set to start with the study?
recluse1: ready here
sadandalone: Do i need a bible
SeptemberMorn: go ahead, Debbie :)
eskielover: It isn’t necessary as I type out all the Bible verses
SeptemberMorn: Yes, Sad. Debbie types out all the Bible verses. :)
sadandalone: oh ok
sadandalone: thanks
SeptemberMorn: :)
eskielover: Tonight we are still looking at the Holy Spirit…& being led by the Holy Spirit
eskielover: Gal 5:25-26
eskielover: Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step
eskielover: with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, & envying each other.
eskielover: there are a list of 6 ways the Holy Spirit reveals himself to us continually
eskielover: 1) What the Spirit does with the words of Jesus……John 16:12-15
eskielover: I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.
eskielover: But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you
eskielover: into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears,
eskielover: & he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine
eskielover: & making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from
eskielover: what is mine & make it known to you
eskielover: 2) we are led by the Spirit
eskielover: Gal 5:18
eskielover: Bit if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
eskielover: Rom 8:14
eskielover: because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God
eskielover: 3) the Spirit provides us with assurance of salvation
eskielover: Rom 8:16
eskielover: The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are god’s children
eskielover: 4) the Holy Spirit also helps us to pray
eskielover: Rom 8:26
eskielover: In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
eskielover: We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
eskielover: with groans that words cannot express
eskielover: I don’t know about you all, but I can just imagine this in my bedroom when I try to pray about something I don’t know how to pray about
recluse1: reassuring to know that we don’t always have to know the right words
eskielover: thinking about the language of sounds that exists in the heavenly realm
recluse1: our true intentions are made clear to God
SeptemberMorn: In my experience, all I could do was groan and I feel He had the words
recluse1: amen
SeptemberMorn: yes, amen!
eskielover: it does help me because many times I don’t even know where to start with the prayer
eskielover: amen
eskielover: before reading this, I had no idea the Spirit was part of my prayers also
sadandalone: I had no idea
SeptemberMorn: Can I tell you something that happened to me?
eskielover: 5) The Spirit helps meet the needs of the church & individual believers……with gifts of the Spirit
recluse1: sure, yes
eskielover: sure
SeptemberMorn: When I was staying with a friend
SeptemberMorn: because I was nearly homeless
SeptemberMorn: I was walking around outside of her house and I knew that I needed a place of my own
SeptemberMorn: but I didn’t have the money or even any idea where I could find even just a room to rent
SeptemberMorn: I felt desperate. All I could muster was a groan of “OH GOD!!”
SeptemberMorn: Three days later, my oldest son called me and told me he was buying me a small, old, mobile home!
SeptemberMorn: From that place, it was just a stepping stone. I was able to trade that old “tin can” for the place I live in now.
recluse1: ((((((September))))))) He was listening!
eskielover: how amazing….how our prayers are answered….when we don’t even know exactly what we are really needing
SeptemberMorn: Tell me that wasn’t an answer to my groaning!
sadandalone: wow
SeptemberMorn: Oh, yes he was! I was being faithful to what I believe and He in turn was faithful to me!
recluse1: Thank you for sharing that with us! WOW!!! Beautiful!
SeptemberMorn: my friend likes to watch vampire movies and programs. I refuse to! That’s why I was outside.
eskielover: that is really awesome
SeptemberMorn: Debbie, you’ve seen where I live. ;)
eskielover: how beautiful the way God works
SeptemberMorn: It surely is!
eskielover: I have seen where you live & it is a beautiful home
eskielover: it is really warm & comfortable
SeptemberMorn: You’ve met my oldest son, too. :)
SeptemberMorn: It’s small but it’s all I NEED.
eskielover: yes, I remember
eskielover: we don’t need large…….we are better off having exactly what we need & God knows that need
SeptemberMorn: “Great is Thy faithfulness!”
recluse1: i love that song!
SeptemberMorn: exactly
SeptemberMorn: it’s my theme song
SeptemberMorn: ok… I’m done. :)
eskielover: we all need to hear wonderful prayer examples like that
SeptemberMorn: thank you, Debbie
eskielover: thank you for sharing
SeptemberMorn: I just had to
recluse1: i love to hear others praising Him for their blessings! TY
eskielover: 5) The Spirit helps meet the needs of the church & individual believers…..with gifts of the Spirit)
eskielover: 1 Cor 12 1-11
eskielover: remember, these are the gifts of the spirit….different from the fruits of the Spirit
SeptemberMorn: glad you said that!
eskielover: Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.
eskielover: You know that when you were pagans, somehow you were influenced & led astray to mute idols
eskielover: Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed”
eskielover: & no one can say” Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.
eskielover: There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
eskielover: There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord
eskielover: There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men
eskielover: Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
eskielover: To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom,
eskielover: to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
eskielover: to another faith by the same Spirit,
eskielover: to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
eskielover: to another miraculous powers,
sadandalone: brb
sadandalone is currently away.
SeptemberMorn: k
eskielover: to another prophecy
eskielover: to another distinguishing between spirits,
eskielover: to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,
eskielover: & to still another, the interpretation of tongues.
eskielover: All these are the work of one & the same Spirit, & he gives them to dach one, fust as he determines
eskielover: some definitions that go along with these verses
eskielover: Spiritual gifts…..manifestations of the Holy Spirit enabling one to minister to the needs of the church (Christ’s body) produce results that are obvious
eskielover: The term “Jesus be cursed” one who is regenerated by the Holy Spirit cannot pronounce a curse on Jesus
eskielover: but is the only one who from the heart can say “Jesus is Lord”
eskielover: Same Spirit….same Lord….same God —reflects the trinity diversity & unity of spiritual gifts
eskielover: Gifts…..are produced by the indwelling Holy spirit
eskielover: service —different positions in the Christian community is the term used in the 1st century
eskielover: working….power that is in operation
eskielover: Each member of the boy of Christ has been given some Spiritual gift
eskielover: that is evidence of the Spirits working in his life.
eskielover: All gifts are intended to build up the members of the Christian community not used for selfish advantage.
eskielover: Not everyone is given the same gift or all the gifts.
sadandalone is back again.
SeptemberMorn: wb
sadandalone: ty
recluse1: wb
eskielover: The gift of knowledge/wisdom…..to make decisions or choose proper courses of action
eskielover: faith (not the saving faith that all Christians have)….faith to meed a specific need within the body of Christ
eskielover: Healing: different kinds of illnesses & ways God heals them.
eskielover: miraculous powers: miracle (action that can’t be explained by natural means)
eskielover: act of God intended as evidence of his power & purpose
eskielover: prophecy: a communication of the mind of God imparted to a believer by the Holy Spirit
eskielover: prediction or indication of the will of God in a given situation.
eskielover: Includes the broader sense of a speech such as proclaiming the gospel
eskielover: distinguishing between spirits: distinguish between the true & false teachings & evil spirits
eskielover: Different tongues: this is talking about languages & unlearned human languages & dialects….not the speaking in heavenly tongues idea
eskielover: interpretation of tongues: so communication & the people how hear can understand
recluse1: glad you made that clear for us. I was confused on that one.
Butterfly38 entered the room.
eskielover: The Holy Spirit determines who gets what Gifts
recluse1: welcome butterfly
SeptemberMorn: Hi, Butterfly
Butterfly38 has left the room.
Butterfly38 entered the room.
eskielover: The 6th way that the Holy Spirit reveals himself to us is that he develops characteristics in the lives of believers
Butterfly38: hi

Bible Study - Fruit of the Spirit - 6-23-08 Part 2

June 24th, 2008

eskielover: Only in our weakness & inability to figure out what to say….loss of words not in our avoidance
SeptemberMorn: “You do not have because you do not ask”
recluse1: exactly!
SeptemberMorn: :)
eskielover: 1 Thessalonians 5:17
eskielover: Pray continually
eskielover: (but he doesn’t want us to babble either….lol)
SeptemberMorn: lol
eskielover: Through the Bible we have learned about the spirit
recluse1: i am in awe when i hear of people that pray 5 and 6 hours a day!
SeptemberMorn: I wouldn’t begin to have a clue how to measure the time! LOL
eskielover: (personality, creativity, awareness, consistency, protectiveness, tenderness, loyalty)
eskielover: How can we affect the Holy Spirit??
eskielover: the Holy Spirit
eskielover: We can “put out the Spirit’s fire”
eskielover: 1 Thess 5:19
eskielover: Do not put out the Spirit’s fire
recluse1: quenching the Spirit
eskielover: There is a warmth & glow about the Spirits presence.
eskielover: Paul in his writings is referring to conduct such as loafing, immorality & other sins he talks about
eskielover: ….also warning about mechanical attitude toward worship that discourages the expressions of the gifts of the spirit
eskielover: This keeps the Spirit from exerting His full influence
eskielover: The Holy Spirit NEVER withdraws His presence.
eskielover: God has an “expected end” toward which he continually moves us.
eskielover: He desires for us to acknowledge Him as completely sovereign over every decision
eskielover: & direction of our lives
eskielover: His insistence isn’t based on His ego…it
eskielover: its for us based on our success, our victory
eskielover: Jer 10:23
bethBot entered the room.
recluse1: welcome beth
eskielover: I know, O Lord that a man’s life is not his own; It is not for man to direct his steps
SeptemberMorn: wb, Beth :)
bethBot: hey
eskielover: Only the Lord can direct our steps. When we say NO to his leadership, we are quenching the Holy Spirit
eskielover: The second way we can affect the Holy Spirit is by grieving him
bethBot has left the room.
eskielover: We talked a bit about this last week
eskielover: Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy spirit of God with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption
eskielover: The Holy spirit can feel pain & sadness
eskielover: We are his source of joy…also sadness with the following
recluse1: I am not sure I understand the difference between the two..
eskielover: Eph 4:31
recluse1: quenching and grieving
SeptemberMorn: I think grieving is stronger than quenching?
eskielover: lets see if I can explain it
SeptemberMorn: oh good!
recluse1: thanks, i need some help here, lol
recluse1: am i jumping ahead of the studies explanation?
eskielover: quenching pushes the Spirit away from us
recluse1: ok
eskielover: Grieving comes from sins
eskielover: in Eph 4:31
eskielover: in order not to grieve the Spirit, we need to …/…..get rid of all bitterness, rage & anger, brawling & slander, along with every form of malice
eskielover: does that help at all
recluse1: yes, thank you
SeptemberMorn: either way, you don’t want to do either.
eskielover: we can quench the Spirit with our sins also
eskielover: along with just our conduct
recluse1: quenching we don’t fully acknowledge and grieving sin, we aren’t witnessing to the fruit of the Spirit??
recluse1: am i looking at this right?
SeptemberMorn: the way I see it, sinning can grieve Him and that quenches Him
recluse1: that makes sense to me too
SeptemberMorn: or the other way around.
eskielover: O think that both happen
SeptemberMorn: yes, I see it that way, too
recluse1: ok..lol. I think I got a handle on it
recluse1: i saw it that way too is why I wondered the difference of the two
eskielover: when we sin or our conduct is bad or we get a mechanical attitude about worship….that pushes him out of us & quenches him inside of us
recluse1: it seems one brings about the other
recluse1: AHHH, that makes much more sense to me the way you just said it!
eskielover: When we sin, it grieves the Spirit….& until we get rid of the sin, the Spirit grieves
eskielover: How do we get rid of the sin?
recluse1: confess it
eskielover: TRUE CONFESSION & REPENTANCE
eskielover: We learned to pray…..”& forgive me for all my sins”
eskielover: The word repentance means “to turn & walk in the other direction”
eskielover: we can’t repent from something vague or unspecified.
gege808 entered the room.
recluse1: hi gege
eskielover: Every known sin must be the object of repentance.
SeptemberMorn: Hi gege
gege808: hi
eskielover: Blanket prayers of forgiveness with no thought to the object of god’s disfavor are a waste of time
eskielover: We can’t confess what we will not face. We must be specific
gege808 is going to 21+ Chat
gege808 has left the room.
recluse1: that is a powerful truth
eskielover: Repentance leads to salvation 2 Cor 7:10
eskielover: Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation & leaves no regret but worldly sorrow brings death.
eskielover: As long as we experience no sorrow for a sin, we have not fully turned from that sin.
recluse1: true
eskielover: We cherish some sins, treasure them & don’t want to let go.
eskielover: treasure them
eskielover: We admit to God we have committed the but lack of sorrow that gives the strength to turn away
recluse1: like “remembering the good ole days”, holding on to those memories
recluse1: of the sin
eskielover: How often do we hold onto a past sin, & nurture the memory?
recluse1: i am guilty of that. i admit it
eskielover: Our only hope is to ask God to help give us the sorrow which leads to repentance.
SeptemberMorn: Oh my!
recluse1: to say I haven’t done that would be a lie
eskielover: We have no idea how those sins are holding us as slaves & making us vulnerable to satan
SeptemberMorn: me too
eskielover: same here
recluse1: i have never really thought about it that way…woo, now that is deep!
eskielover: These are all the places where we need to turn over our need for help to God
recluse1: new perspective for me
eskielover: I know it is for me too….as I remember the blanket asking for forgiveness
SeptemberMorn: I don’t even do that
recluse1: and it makes perfect sense that holding on to the past hinders our progress for our future, but i never thought about it in the way of past sin
eskielover: like a yea, yea,……I sinned…..I just have to ask for forgiveness
SeptemberMorn: I’ll feel bad, feel guilty, but that’s it.
eskielover: I think it’s a real trick knowing & pointing to a specific sin
eskielover: some sins are so subtle….they are hard to recognize
SeptemberMorn: I’m thinking of something but I have a tough time reconciling with the fact that it could be a sin.
recluse1: also much harder to confess, as a lot of times the things we are unspecific about are the things we most regret and are ashamed to admit even to ourselves
SeptemberMorn: what if you don’t regret it, though?
eskielover: I know sometimes, I look at it & say….I didn’t kill anyone…..I didn’t steal
eskielover: I didn’t dishonor my parents as they aren’t alive anymore
eskielover: Going with the 10 commandment
SeptemberMorn didn’t really commit adultery
eskielover: & yes, if you don’t regret the action…..we end up justifying our actions
SeptemberMorn: lol exactly!
recluse1: i have caught myself trying to justify my wrongs
eskielover: & when we justify them….then they don’t seem like sins
recluse1: that is when the Holy Spirit REALLY throws my conscience at me!
recluse1: I think EVERYONE has done that September
recluse1: sometimes we do feel justified in doing things, even if we know it was the wrong thing
SeptemberMorn: probably
recluse1: “how can something so wrong feel so right” sort of thing
eskielover: I think we all have definitely done it this way….know for me it rang so true
SeptemberMorn: I have to really give it some thought, because I feel I benefited from the experience.
recluse1: part of our learning processes
SeptemberMorn: hmmm
eskielover: nothing says we can’t benefit from a sin
SeptemberMorn: really?
recluse1: I think when we are truly wrong the Holy Spirit lets us know it in our hearts
eskielover: sins are usually things we do because we get something out if it
recluse1: that’s true
SeptemberMorn: Oh yeah!
SeptemberMorn: even now… I don’t feel guilt.
recluse1: we can rationalize in our minds, but our hearts know the truth
SeptemberMorn: maybe I was stupid, too trusting, too something… b ut not guilt.
eskielover: I don’t think we always have to feel guilt…….just know that what we did was wrong in God’s eyes is the main point with a sin
recluse1: we don’t always have that guilt factor. That’s true
recluse1: lol
SeptemberMorn: LOL You’re right
eskielover: If it was something that God says he looks at as a sin…..that is our only way of telling sometimes
recluse1: yes! so true!
SeptemberMorn: I guess some sins can look beautiful to us, eh?
recluse1: oh yes! The Devil is good at what he does!
